More green tech innovation out of Italy and this time from the island of Sicily where the seed-funded start up, eRALOS3 has come up with a way to charge mobile devices with a bendable photovoltaic cell they call Solar Writing.
Yes, you heard me correctly. A bendable photovoltaic cell. And, because the cell is bendable, it can be integrated in jackets, bags, shirts, tents, umbrellas, essentially whatever you want. Solar Writing transforms solar energy into electricity, no matter where you are because it turns your clothing or accessories into high tech chargers.
According to their CEO and co-founder, Giuseppe Suriani, eRALOS3 wants you to be energy independent so you can connect with your world all the time, everywhere you go.
PROMOTED
"I'm convinced people will take to wearing Solar Writing or embedding it into clothing or other things," said Suriani. "Today and even more so in the future, we depend on portable electronic devices to stay connected to our world online, no energy means no connectivity and Solar Writing allows you to stay powered up and connected on-the-go."
The three-man team, Giuseppe Suriani, co-founder and CEO, Salvatore Bagiante, co-founder and CTO and Michele Corselli, co-founder and owner, all have a Masters of Material Science and they all studied non-traditional and innovative Photovoltaic technology. From those studies, they realized they had the technical knowledge and drive to create something that would support our on-the-go, connected lifestyles.
Speaking of lifestyles, I asked Suriani if he was talking to any Italian fashion designers about embedding Solar Writing in their clothing lines and his reply was: "Of course we are talking with Italian fashion designers, we are 'Made in Italy'."
