Italian start up Fubles, is an online sports sharing community that lets you find and organize pick-up sports matches nearby. Based in the heart of the world's fashion mecca, Milan, Fubles is all about sports, specifically soccer. Fubles combines the social network features we have all come to love with specific team sports features such as managing rosters, scoreboards, player rankings and statistics. You can even create your own team. No excuse for sitting around on a Sunday saying you're bored and have no one to play with. The internet means you have friends.
Don't think for one minute that Fubles is run by a bunch of jocks. The four man team, all under 31, are sports fans and players but also business and tech whizzes. Mirko Trasciatti, CEO, comes equipped with Master of Science degree in Economics. His teammates are equally educated with degrees in infomatics, industrial engineering and information technology.
Fubles is intelligently simple. Just choose what, when, where and who you want to play with. Log into Fubles and see if there's a match nearby (within 30 kms from your location), click on the match, look for available space, subscribe and snap! You're in the line up and all you have to do is show up and play. And, there's a lot of playing going on. You can view the last 40 matches played online, yesterday alone, there were 30 games played through Fubles. According to Giuseppe De Giorgi, co-founder, Fubles, in June, there were 1,200 new matches played on Fubles.
If you're not a soccer player, not a problem, there's also tennis, cricket, volleyball, beach volleyball, beach soccer, TAG rugby and minigolf. Fubles supports three languages - Italian, English and Spanish. As an avid tennis player and ex-pat living in Italy, I plan on using Fubles to create a power league down here in Tuscany.
